So I was in class early this morning, wondering what the hell I was doing up so early. Not to worry I wasn’t the only one wondering the same thing. The teacher is a bit weird and apparently we are now studying programming 4 and not IT management. Since it’s only the first week, we were just going over an introduction to the unit, when he mentioned something about 10,000.
So now a small group of us started to listen a bit more closely, even thou this has nothing to do with IT management (maybe this is why we started to listen!). He was wondering if it was possibly to do 10,000 of anything. The examples that were giving were walking 10,000KM, but it would have to be in a certain amount of time and not over your whole life time; and if you could get 10,000 friends. 10,000 friends might be a bit hard, as there is no possible way that a single person can remember 10,000 different names and faces. Therefore most of these friends would have to be what you might call e-friends. The challenge was then set to see if we could do 10,000 of something in our own lives.
There were a lot of different ideas as people could come up with anything and everything. Having a massive love for books and reading I decided to see if I could read 10,000 books and/or journal articles in the remainder of my life. So everything that I have read before this day does not count towards this goal and if a book is to be re-read, it does not count towards the total. So from this day forth the task has been set and now the challenge must be meet. It will be interesting to see if it can be done and how long it will actually take.
Happy reading to me
